Two Hundred Pounds Notes
The Central Bank of Egypt introduced the two hundred pounds note for the first time in 2007. The new denomination never existed before 2007. It was considered a necessity to introduce a higher denomination given the devaluation of the Egyptian Pound against all the major world currencies. The denomination has been regularly issued by the CBE ever since its introduction, and is still being issued this day.

One Hundred Pounds Notes
Egypt's first one hundred pound note was introduced in 1899 by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE). However, these notes were discontinued in 1952. After the central bank (CBE) took over in 1961, a new bill was not immediately introduced. It was not until 1978 that the CBE introduced its first issued one hundred pounds note. These bills have been regularly issued by the CBE ever since, and are still being issued to this day.

One Pound Notes
The CBE issued its first one Egyptian pound notes in November of 1961. The denomination has been issued regularly since its introduction. Although, the introduction of a one Egyptian pound coin in 2005 has made it less desirable, and possibly a more expensive alternative. The year 2008 was considered to be the last year for the series. However, the CBE printed the denomination once again in 2016 and 2017. It is unclear weather or not the series will continue or will be discontinued for good !
